Description

THE EVIL WITHIN! In Victorian London, when Janus Stark traps a demon in a stone idol he creates a prize too alluring for criminal masterminds to resist. Enter the King of Crooks – The Spider – who tasks his infamous Crime Syndicate with stealing the statuette. Thus begins a six decade-spanning adventure featuring a host of British comics’ finest heroes as The Steel Claw, Jane Bond, Robot Archie and Adam Eterno – with a little help from Maxwell Towers’ rogue AI – team up to ensure The Spider never lays his hands on the idol. This action-packed team-up is written by Paul Grist (Jack Staff) with art by Tom Foster (Judge Dredd), Anna Morozova (Lowborn High), Jimmy Broxton (Goldtiger) and V.V Glass (The Last Witch).

Author Biography:

Paul Grist Paul Grist's first comics work was published in the 1980s by DC Thomson and Fleetway. His early work also includes St. Swithin's Day (Trident Comics), Grendel: Devil in Our Midst (Dark Horse), and the Judge Dredd story, Kinky Boots. His own publishing company, Dancing Elephant Press, originally published his creator owned series Kane and Jack Staff. Both titles later moved to Image Comics. Tom Foster Tom Foster is best known for his work in 2000 AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine, but he has also produced work for Imagine FX, Disconnected Press and satirical activists, The Yes Men. He is also known for his stand-up comedy and can often be seen performing at comedy clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Anna Morozova Anna Morozova is a Russian-born freelance comics artist and illustrator from Estonia, who now lives and works in Scotland. Following graduation from a Comics Masters in Dundee, she produced work for various comics publishers and commercial clients. As well as co-creating Viva Forever with David Baillie and Lowborn High with David Barnett, Anna’s contributions to 2000 AD so far include illustrating Future Shocks and a Black Museum episode for the Judge Dredd Megazine. Jimmy Broxton When not hard at work desperately trying to make sense of Guy Adams’ mind bending scripts for the new series of Hope, dabbling in the Dredd-Verse for the Judge Dredd Megazine, or willing various creator owned projects into existence by the power of thought alone (including a follow up to Goldtiger, are you reading this Adams?) the artist can be found drinking fine Hellenic beers and driving German sports cars, but not necessarily in that order. He lives in Middle England, with too many books, not enough cats. V.V Glass V.V. Glass is an illustrator and cover artist who's worked with Titan, Oni Press, 2000 AD, and MTV, focussing on painterly & expressive style in comics. They worked on The Last Witch for Boom! Studios - a creepy fantasy for younger readers.
