Author Biography:

Janie Havemeyer is an author of books for young readers. She has been a featured author on the Girl Scouts' The Studio. Her two middle grade biographies Catherine de' Medici "The Black Queen" and Njinga "The Warrior Queen" were part of the American Library Association's Top Ten Non-Fiction Series for Youth in 2012. Janie earned a Master's in Education degree from Bank Street College and taught in schools and museums. Janie lives in San Francisco, California.
