Every pair of Skullcandy earbuds I've owned has broken where the wire meets the jack. The insulation doesn't break, but the wires inside do, losing sound from one of the buds.
Don't know why, not rough with them. If you can avoid touching the jack or unplugging them then these are very good. Otherwise get something cheaper they last just as long.
