Description

The seventies witnessed some enthralling battles, notable in the FA Cup - the two cup runs of '72 and '78 - those unforgettable battles with Chelsea twice, Leicester, Norwich and Middlesbrough. And who could ever forget the Villa heartache of 1974. The eighties are remembered by many as the 'Clark Out' years, yet Frankie still presided over some memorable matches - a 2-0 defeat of Spurs, an epic 1-1 with West Ham, and a long awaited promotion achieved with the defeat of Wrexham in '89. The century's last 10 years brought about financial crises followed by financial rescue and yet more unforgettable encounters - the Elleray experience against Brentford, that long awaited away win at Northampton and the play-off semi victory at Rotherham. Since then we've had the thriller at the Kassam in '06, the arrival of the man with no hair in 2010 and the Jonathan Tehoue moment against the Gooners in 2012. Classic encounters aplenty, each captured in all their glory here. God bless Herb Alpert.
