Description

Sixteen Years of Travel in Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales is not a travel guide, although through the stories and vignettes you will get plenty of suggestions for what to see and do (or what not to see and do) on your trips. After reading about the grand castles in Edinburgh and Stirling, the famous Llanfair PG on Angelsey in Wales, or St Michael's Mount in Cornwall, you may want to visit one or all. Perhaps I'll entice you to find more ghosts than we did or hunt for different haunts. I certainly hope that any readers who plays golf will make some of Scotland's out-of-the-way village courses their destination. You'll also read about the Scottish, Irish, English, and Welsh B&Bs--that's where all the action is. You'll read about the Scourge of the Highlands and the chocolate demanding fox of East Claire. In the stories you will meet heroes, some villains, and lots of characters. All this in small vignettes gathered by two retired teachers who began traveling to the British Isles when they retired from teaching. A three seek trip to Scotland to celebrate retirement has turned into a love affair with Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and a growing fascination with England. That love affair has generated the stories in this book.
