Ben Abraham – Sirens
Ben Abraham began his career as a screenwriter and part time worker in a
children’s
hospital as an entertainer for the sick kids. He often turned to music to cope
with everyday
struggles and began playing local gigs around his home town Melbourne,
Australia. This
then quickly turned into a full on tour with Emmylou Harris, which then turned
into him
writing songs with Grammy-Award nominee Sara Bareilles.
He self-released his album, Sirens, throughout Australia, but then teamed up
with Secretly
Canadian in order to release it globally.
Abrahams’ music is very folk influenced and he is found often using guitar,
ukulele, piano
and harmonica to support his hauntingly angelic voice.
During Sirens he incorporates harmonious vocals and experimental soulful
arrangements
to create his world, and tell his story, which is placed in a specific order so
that“the listener
can experience it properly” he says.
Cultured Vultures reviewed the album and gave it a 9/10, saying: “Sirens is
an album filled
with thoughtful, introspective music, designed to open the hearts of its
audience to the
truths we all share.”
