Description

According to polls over ninety-five percent of Americans believe in God. Over eighty percent profess to be Christian. Yet less than half have a vital religious affiliation and less than twenty percent attend a church on any given weekend. Almost everyone in America has ready access to a Bible. Yet few have read it and very few have a routine that involves regular study. The reason most often cited is that the Bible is too hard to read and understand. Simple Gospel is a complete modern language presentation of the Biblical accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John merged in sequential and contextual order. Every verse of every chapter is included and no material from any other source has been used. It is a "must read" for those who really want to know what the Bible says. Eric Scott received degrees in Biology and Business Administration and enjoyed a successful career in business before pursuing a Religious Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in his mid-thirties. As a pastor he was awarded the distinguished Pace-Setter Award from the Baptist General Convention of Texas three times and has been recognized by the Billy Graham Association twice for outstanding evangelistic performance. He has served as Moderator over 118 churches in his local association of Southern Baptists, was elected to the Executive Board that governs his state convention, and presided over an interdenominational ministers' alliance that included clergy from seven denominations for several years. He is a gifted writer and teacher who spent more than fifteen years analyzing and interpreting the Gospels to produce a work that would be true to the scriptures and easy for a person who isn't particularly "religious" to read and understand.
