"An essential for fans of the 'Silent Hill' game series. "
5 stars"

Here the knowledge of Silent Hill unfolds, bringing with it many of the answers you always wanted to know; and some you didn't. The characters in the movie are very relevant to the first game and the atmosphere and storyline depicts the intensity and involvement akin to it. A predominantly lesser-known cast do an exceptional job at bringing to life all the characters associated with the games and a soundtrack permeating the fear you thought you could hide. The only disappointment the viewer will have is that there isn't a sequel!

"Great "based on a video game "movie"
5 stars"

An utterly brilliant movie from the “based on a video game” genre and one of only a few of those movies that is enjoyable to watch. The plot is excellent, the sets are magnificant and the creatures are superb. It is a film that has a strong female cast and it works, delivering heart pounding excitement and a few decent scares along the way.

Well worth watching :)

"A definite must for SH fans"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I watched this movie at the cinemas with somewhat of a reservation. Being a fan of the games, I was curious to see if the environments, characters and stories of the game, could be brought to life in a movie. As you know, SH is known for its great stories which pull you into the game as well as the creepy environments and enemies.

I am happy to note though, that this movie brought so many elements of the game into the movie. In fact, if you watch the “Making of” featurette, you will get a better understanding of this. The movie itself was a bit slow moving but it was getting you ready for the adventure ahead.. I also MUST let you know that if you watch this movie on a budget tv with crap sound, you will not be getting the same experience nor will you be doing it justice. The sound effects are one of the most important attributes of this movie and you cannot sufficiently enjoy it without good sound.

I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys Silent Hill or even anyone who enjoys a good horror/thriller with a twist. So start popping that corn, turn off all the lights and enjoy!!!

We've been expecting you.

After the continuous sleep walking episodes of Sharon, the young daughter of Rose Da Silva, the decision is made to take Sharon to the place only mentioned in her restless dreams- Silent Hill. However, the road to Silent Hill is anything but easy to access, and Rose creates a high speed chase between herself and a police officer only to end in a crash for them both. When she wakes up, Sharon has disappeared and Rose is at the entrance to the deserted, dream-like town of Silent Hill.

As Rose begins the search for her daughter, she does not realise the terror and mystery surrounding her. Rose is led on a blind search for her beloved daughter, finding herself getting more and more entwined into the disturbing past of Silent Hill.

Starring Australian actress Radha Mitchell (Melinda and Melinda, Man on Fire, Finding Neverland) and Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Flight Plan), Silent Hill is based on the hugely popular trilogy of computer games by the same name.
