In the original Shogun Total War, you mastered the various skills that make up the Art of War, united a nation and became the Supreme Shogun. Your sovereignty is once again under threat but this time it's not only from within Japan. Now you must also face your greatest challenge yet as you lead your Samurai warriors against the might of Kublai Khan and his marauding Mongol Hordes. With a host of improvements, including three new campaigns, eight new unit types and improved AI, Total War returns to Japan and puts you in control of thousands of Japanese warriors including new units such as Sword Saints and Battlefield Ninja. Alternatively, you can take on the role of Kublai himself and get set to invade Japan and take its spoils for yourself.

Multiple Victory Conditions & Game Types - As well as the straight Kill em all battles of Shogun Version 1, new types of battles can be fought where the aim is to kill the enemy Daimyo or to capture tactical points such as Castles.

Strategic Missions and Gameplay Options - Use your Emissaries to bribe enemy generals to join your cause and use Ninja to infiltrate enemy castles to break a siege.

Improved AI - Better pathfinding and tactical AI. Better Strategy Map AI - with no obvious cheating. Better Daimyo AI makes leaders harder to kill in battle.
