Description

Seymour Duncan ST591 Little 59 Telecaster Lead / Bridge pickup in black. It's a humbucker that fits into a normal single-coil pickup slot, so you get noise canceling without cutting a large hole in your guitar.

P.A.F.-voiced single-coil-sized humbucker. Great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. For all well-balanced instruments. Works equally well with maple and rosewood fingerboards.

This lead pickup is a hybrid. Designed for the Telecaster player who wants to rock, this little beast delivers a warm, smooth tone, reminiscent of an old '59 humbucker mixed together with a healthy dose of beefed up twang.

Comes in black only with four-conductor cable. Available in lead (bridge) position only. Matches up well with a Vintage Rhythm Stack for a totally quiet rig; or with a Hot Rhythm for an all-around hot axe.

players: Jake Kelly / Gary Allan, Greg Bergdorf / Zebrahead, Lyle Workman, Victor Johnson / Sammy Hagar & Soul Finger, Gilby Clarke / Guns 'N Roses & Heart, Kenny Olson / Kid Rock

Listen to the ST59–1 Bridge Clean and the ST59–1 Bridge Dirty.

User Reviews

“I have used this pickup for a few years. In Series Mode, this pickup sounds very mid range and looses the twang you get in a tele bridge pickup.Think Gibson. In Parallel mode, this pickup brings the twang back! I love this pickup for that very reason. I can play Led Zepplin or Metallica and with a flick of the mini switch I can go back to playing Merle Haggard or some twangin blues. Very Cool pickup but USE A MINI SWITCH!” UnskinnyBop

“I was a bit worried about changing my pickup but it turned out just right. I used a Push Pull 500k pot on the volume side to switch from single coil to the double humbucker out put. A huge differance in sound without losing the original tone. Seymour Duncan's web site offers all the wiring diagrams you would need. One word of caution is make sure you note what wire is where before de-soldering. In any case I'm very satisfied with the end results.” Michael

“I just purchased this pickup and installed it in a 2006 Anniversary Tele Diamond Edition. The sound coming out of this tele is so awesome! I still kept my 52ri Tele American Vintage Neck pickup and im so glad i did, cause it works perfect with the lil 59. SOund is buttery, highs are now controlled and leads are just plain awesome!Note: the installation diagram states that one must reverse the green and black wires if youre installing it on a tele with a fender neck pickup. I did that. But originally I also connected the bare wire with the green and that messed up my whole sound. Remember, the Bare wire must always go to ground. SO I changed it to the black and bare and wow! Simply Amazing.” Musikman4Christ
