The Selle Fran�ais is a distinguished French sport horse breed. Originating in the nineteenth century, this breed was developed by crossing local Norfolk trotter and Thoroughbred stallions with native mares in France. The consolidation of multiple breed lineages into a unified stud book in 1958 officially recognized this horse as the Selle Fran�ais. Referred to as French saddle horses, they are renowned for their prowess in show jumping and are also favored as riding horses. Their popularity has led to their exportation to various countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, where they are registered in respective stud books.
