This book presents peer-reviewed articles from the 1st International Conference on Trends in Modern Physics (TiMP 2021) held at Assam Don Bosco University in Guwahati, India, between February 26 and 27, 2021. This conference was the 3rd in a series of annual conferences of the Department of Physics, ADBU, with the 1st and 2nd being national conferences. The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Physics, ADBU, and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) to promote greater synergy between thematic areas of astrophysics and cosmology, plasma physics, material and nanophysics, nuclear physics, and particle physics 

Author Biography:

Professor Sengupta is currently a senior professor and school chair at the School of Mathematical & Computational Sciences of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata. His research interests include extra-dimensional theories, string theory, supersymmetry, supergravity, braneworld phenomenology, cosmology, and black holes. He is credited with over 80 publications in reputed national and international journals. Dr. Dey is currently an assistant professor at the Physics Department, Pragjyotish College, Guwahati. He was the founding head at the Department of Physics of the Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), Guwahati. His research interests include condensed matter physics (microscopic superfluidity), biophysics, fundamental quantum mechanics, and pedagogy. He is credited with over 20 publications in reputed national and international journals. Professor Das is currently a professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Lethbridge, Canada. His research interests include phenomenology of quantum gravity (studying Planck scale signatures in low energy systems), singularity theorems and singularity resolution via quantum mechanics, and quantum information science and its relation to the black hole information loss problem. He is credited with over 100 publications in reputed international journals. Professor Saikia is currently a professor at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune. His research interests include diverse areas from astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology. He is credited with over 300 publications in reputed national and international journals. Professor Panda is currently the director at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar. His research interests include string theory, cosmology, finite temperature field theory, conformal field theory, gravity and supergravity, and neutrino physics. He is credited with over 100 publications in reputed national and international journals. Dr. Podila is currently an assistant professor and head at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Clemson University, USA. His research interests include biophysics, nanoparticles, cancer screening, drug delivery, in vitro experimentation, and safety. He is credited with over 70 publications in reputed national and international journals.
