Only a few people participated in America's manned space program from its genesis with Project Mercury to the development of the Space Shuttle and International Space Program. This memoir traces David W. Stewart's evolution from a youngster during World War II, through his involvement in aerospace, small business, and finally as a writer and community leader.
Author Biography:
Although I consider myself a Floridian, I was born, David Osborn Stewart, in Marion, Indiana, on February, 9, 1939. I changed my name to David Witherington Stewart after I married my second wife, Annette Louise Witherington, on December 17, 1962. I adopted Annette's daughter, Edna Faye, in 1963, when she was three-years-old. Annette delivered our son, Geoffrey David, on November 18, 1964. Annette died of breast cancer on August 4, 1999. I graduated from the University of Florida in 1959 with a BS in Physics. During the period from 1957 until 1996, I worked in the aerospace industry as an engineer, supervisor, and manager on the Atlas/Mercury, Titan/Gemini, Apollo/Saturn, and Space Shuttle programs. After retiring from aerospace, I owned and managed L&D Consulting in Brevard County, Florida. I closed L&D Consulting and started Coreopsis Publications, LLC, in 2009, as owner and principle writer. I published four novels: Psychic Redemption, Within the Wind, Serious Consequences, and Cabrera Landing. I have two more novels in work
