Description

Stunning photography from renowned photographer Anne Menke Foreword by American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger Texts by luminaries such as Peter Beard, Paul Johnson and Paul Smith explain where fashion meets culture in ethnic populations in Latin America, Europe, Asia, North America, and more Anne Menke has traveled the world on assignment for the likes of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and The New York Times, usually in search of the perfect environment to shoot a fashion spread. Through this, she has discovered that these environments themselves are the origins of much of the fashion we see on the runways today and has compiled an incredible record of people and places with that in mind.

Author Biography:

Anne Menke was born in Germany, where she was educated, and after an apprenticeship opened her own photo studio. In 1991 she moved to Paris, and from there continued her career in fashion and advertising photography on locations around the world, including London. In 1995 she moved to New York City and subsequently to Sayulita, Mexico and now lives between the two locations. Her work includes photographing for the 'Sports Illustrated' swimsuit issue, and has been published in 'Self, Travel + Leisure Magazine', 'Cosmopolitan Germany', 'Elle France', 'Vogue Nippon', 'Vogue Russia', and 'Seventeen' magazines, amongst many others. Tommy Hilfiger is an American fashion designer and founder of the eponymous premium lifestyle brand.
