In his writing, Bill draws on his life experience as a world traveller, poet, gang member, psychedelic pioneer, gun runner, mercenary, rock 'n roll promoter, gourmand, critic, raconteur, hedonist, skeptic, and bon amis. Bill Smith currently resides with his wife in the bucolic backwater of Port Colborne, Ontario, where he lives by "a great grey changeable lake", and enjoys "rolling around with large dogs", and "entertaining amenable friends".
