S. A. Laird Book Collection Volume 2 THE VOICE OF REASON All of my life I have been the person people want answers from. It started when I was very young and continues to this day. Many people ask me how to solve their problems from their jobs, relationships, pets, parents and even which tea or coffee to buy at the grocery. I seem to always have an answer ready for them no matter what they ask me. I usually give them the answer that comes from my heart or my past experience. They are usually strangers who ask for help but not always. Sometimes I help friends or family members with their problems. This is a general listing of people I have helped over the years. Why I helped them and how I helped resolve their problems. I hope that you will enjoy reading about the people I have helped over my lifetime. If the people I give advice to don't like what I tell them to do I never argue with them and try to tell them how to live their life. It is ultimately their decision what to do. This book is about my life written as fiction and how people seem to gravitate towards me for comfort and advice. I have been told these people are attracted to my spirit. God is with me in spirit every day in my heart. He has given me the strength to write these books and I know that he approves or they wouldn't have gotten published at this time in my life. The narrative follows Corey's life with her family through good times and bad as she trains horses, seeks to get a divorce, fights for custody of her son and ultimately becomes, almost by accident, a consultant for the FBI with respect to crimes involving horses. When she kills a violent criminal in self-defense her guilt puts her on the path to alcohol-related self-destruction. Corey, by turns is both tough and fragile; struggling to make a life for herself, she ultimately resolves her personal problems and creates a life worth fighting for. She loses herself and her faith for a while. Ultimately she is strong enough to fight for everything in life she feels she deserves. This book is based in part upon my grandfather's experiences in training sulky horses. He was a great trainer back in the thirties and forties and clients trusted him implicitly to train their horses. He was a fascinating character.
