Author Biography

Quentin van Marle is a freelance journalist and travel writer. The cycling trip forming the backbone to Ride the Blazing Rainbow, and his first book Boomerang Road, was featured in a weekly slot on BBC Radio 5 Live. His first book, Marooned, published in 1995, was based on his 31 isolated days spent on an uninhabited tropical island, an ordeal undertaken for the Sunday Times. The author has had a lifelong fascination with travel to difficult and far-flung places.
