She went quickly to the window and pulled it open. Snow was still falling and blew in through the opening. She climbed up onto the window sill. The cold wind tugged at her nightgown and blew her hair across her face. The door crashed open! Esther looked back at the hulking figure and pushed herself out the window. She plummeted down the side of the ice and snow encrusted wall of the palace....
