After qualifying as an engineer I continued on my quest for knowledge and use of technology to help other businesses solve complex and challenging problems. I realised that to solve complex problems, business need to navigate information coming from multiple sources at rapid pace. Be it satellite data or social media, they are all sources of information that help enhance value and I have equally leveraged on them. Both my grandfathers were deeply passionate and highly successful businessmen, following on their footsteps, I continue to help businesses generate higher value for the efforts being put in. Following this journey, I have worked with UN, Oil Companies, Mining firms, Telecommunication organisations, Transportation, Custom Services, National and state governments, regional councils, small and large businesses. What I found was the best decisions in business were made when we combined our anecdotal, tacit gut-feel knowledge with opinions from others and facts. This book is my humble attempt to put together my interaction and experience with organisations over many years.
