Being the first FPS for Vita I only really wanted to pick it up because I wanted to see what both analog sticks in action would be like for an FPS.
They are awesome…
FPS games on Vita are going to be great.
However Resistance Burning Skies was average itself.
Graphics: Alot more lacking than the developers made out to be. Its good but nowhere near PS3 or home console standard. The gun textures were really nice and I found character animation, they way they moved, interacted etc, to be really good. However most environments were nothing special and quite bland. Backgrounds and skyboxes were all very average.
Gameplay: Played better than I expected, even the touch controls. Double tap back to sprint was cool, however I found holding down on dpad to be easier and ended up doing that. You can see how future games are gonna take advantage of using the back touch pad in absence on triggers. Dual analog sticks are awesome and shooting is easy and fun. Plays like a true FPS.
In general: Campaign was short, only 6 chapters and its pretty easy… Took no time at all to get through it. Multiplayer is in full swing, I had no trouble finding loads of games. However the multiplayer is nothing special and feels like a rush. Only a few maps and you level up to upgrade and unlock perks for guns etc feels like COD but worse. Trophies I noticed were also so easy to get. I played through once, only once, and got 100% of trophies. They are all nothing special and you can earn them easily by just playing the game.
Overall the game was pretty average. I would play it but I don't recommend buying it for full price. Its just not that worth it. Wait for it to drop in price or get it cheap off trademe or something.
