Description

This book is written by a preacher and teacher both as a source of information for the interested layman and a ready reference for teachers and students. There is no attempt to interpret the greater religions or to place them in any new world order. My purpose is to promote good will and better understanding among people of diverse beliefs. I have tried to highlight briefly the faiths' origin, growth, and extent of dissemination whether extinct or extant. Beyond the study in mostly past religious history, I have dedicated the latter chapters to today's faith challenges; the conflicts and controversies and finally to those positive areas of religious cooperation, mission, stewardship and commonality of purpose. I have scoured sources from Barclay to Beethoven; from St Paul to Saint Benedict; from Left Behind to Nobody Left Behind; from McPherson to Hubbard and from Graham I to Graham II. What a trip! Ride with me and hopefully experience a challenging yet fulfilling trip.
