There have been very limited studies in Asia to investigate the characteristics and psychopathology of sex offenders (Lau, 1982; Lung & Huang, 2004). Investigation on the relationship of psychotic symptoms to sex offending is also limited (Smith et al, 1999). The present study compares the characteristics of 63 sex offenders with 215 non-sex offenders and examines the relationship of psychotic symptoms to the index sex offences in the remanded population.
