Author Biography

PHILIP MARFLEET is Lecturer in Cultural Studies at the University of East London, UK, where he teaches a range of modules on the BA degree in Third World Studies and is responsible for setting up a new MA degree in Refugee Studies. He is the joint editor, with Ray Kiely, of Globalisation and the Third World (Routledge, 1999).
