Description

This is a collection of Smith's "Captain Volmar" stories, including the never before published novella, "Red World of Polaris." It features space adventure stories. The contents include: "The Magellen of the Constellations - an introduction, Ronald S. Hilger and Scott Connors"; "Marooned in Andromeda"; "A Captivity in Serpens"; "The Red World of Polaris"; "The Ocean-World of Alioth" (a fragment); and "Captain Volmar and Crew - an afterword, Donald Sydney-Fryer".

Author Biography:

Clark Ashton Smith was a self-educated poet and author best remembered for his short stories of fantasy, horror, and the supernatural published in genre pulp magazines such as Wonder Stories and Weird Tales in the late 1920s and 1930s. Smith died in 1961 in California.
