"Fun game but a bit predictable"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Initially when I first started playing this game I thought great..lots of destruction and mayhem. Good range of weapons. Later as the game progressed seemd to maintain the same level of interest without getting anymore exciting. Killing bugs is ok but after a while it becomes just part of thegame. I think I preferred the previous Red faction when there was some choice over which missions you could choose to do and there was certainly the element of free roaming. This game doesnt allow that due to most of the mission time being underground. That said it was ok to play and if you havent played Red Faction before is probably worth a whirl

"A whole lot of fun"

Despite its forgettable story and pacing issues with the campaign, Red Faction: Armageddon is good fun for letting out your inner destructive child. They ability to tear apart and repair the environments at will is a hook that keeps working, and when the campaign gives you plenty of stuff to tear apart it’s easy to lose yourself to a primal need to destroy. Combine this with the other modes, including the especially fun take on cooperative survival, and you have a flawed game that definitely deserves a try.

"Lots of destructible buildings & inventive ways to kill enemies!"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The reviews that came out for this game made it seem very disappointing and not worth your time and money. It's not the greatest game in the world but, it is a good game with some great weapons and a good 6–8 hours of playtime. Once you've beaten the game you get access to New Game + which let's you keep all the upgrades and weapons you've unlocked. You also get access to “Cheats” (Unlimited ammo, weapon unlocks, etc). You “buy” these things by picking up Salvage, much like in Guerrilla. This is the games' currency.

I think why a lot of the reviewers were hard on this game is that unlike the previous entry Red Faction: Guerrilla which is an open world game, Armageddon is a linear, story driven experience.

I happen to enjoy both approaches so that change was not a problem for me. The story is serviceable, nothing ground breaking. The shooting action is fine and enjoyable. What really made it great was the weapons.

My personal favorites early on are the Assault Rifle, Maul (Big a$$ hammer) and the Magnet Gun. The MG works by letting fire an Anchor point. Then you fire an Attractor which pulls anything that the Anchor is attached too towards it. Great fun.

Later on as the number and size of the enemies increases I switched to the Singularity Gun, Plasma Cannon and Rocket Launcher. Great fun, lots of destructible buildings and inventive ways to kill enemies, well worth your time.

"Good Game"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I put off playing this game for a while because its reviews weren't very exciting. However, I found this game to be very fun and challenging at times. I have played previous Red Faction games and found this one to be near the top of the list. The upgrades and weapon selection keep it interesting throughout the short-ish campaign (less than 10hours). There is also a few fun challenge modes which keeps it interesting after the campaign. It is replayable because of its New Game Plus feature which lets you start a new game with your previous game stats. This is very useful if you want to play through again on Insane difficulty, finish collecting all the audio logs, collect more salvage and upgrades, and of course, get more achievements. Its online play is fun although other players often drop out leaving you with the difficult task of completing objectives and defeating challenging waves of enemies. I highly recommend, especially at Mighty Apes good price!

Excellent game!! Really enjoyed the story line and fast paced action. You can upgrade certain items which adds to the fun. Playing online also adds to the game value for money buy, this one's really worth a go!!

"Buy Me"

It was a ok game i like how you get to destroy buildings ect but i didn't like the signal player much (not really my type of game) but multilayer was pretty cool how you get to take on waves of monsters with a 4 man team with eliminate missions and defend missions… defiantly worth the price Mighty Ape offer's it for even if it not a game you think you will be that into

"Some very good play"

With a game very like Lost Planet 2, with an almost identical playing style, this game really contains some epic fighting sequences, however the plot is a little lacking.

"Not as good as its older brother."

Good way to waste a couple of days. A bit monotonous and very linear!

"Fun Game but with no great impact!"

Red faction Armageddon is a great game but didn't really fully grab my attention by about 1–2 hours in i felt like i was just repeating the same stuff over and over again making my time with this game a bit boring. But the game does have a few cool weapons and i always loved the destruction you can cause to buildings and cars etc… But i just couldn't get fully into the game like the last red faction.

"A destructive action packed shooter"

Destructible enviroments and large varieties of bad guys , a large asernal of weapons and one badass protagonist whats not to like about this game –

"Much the same but much different than the first."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The game is as epic as the last one with less running around completing missions but more gadgets. Rather than picking your own missions you are on a set path competing one mission after another throughout the story line. Salvage, weapons and upgrades are all set out differently, not in a bad way, just different. Lots of new special moves to do with nano technology. I’m only half way thought he game and have played a solid 6–7 hours. Aliens aren’t as fun to kill as people :S but still enjoyable when you get the hang of the gravity gun …
