Author Biography:

Maria is Associate Professor in Organisational Behaviour and Director of the Centre for Interprofessional Education and Learning at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham. Maria is a Chartered Psychologist in research and teaching and a Coaching Psychologist. She is presently a Trainee Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapist at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. Maria has had an almost 20-year career in the health and social care sector, holding several senior leadership positions and advisory roles in a range of settings. She directs the qualitative research, evaluation and team development consultancy ResPeo. Maria is an affiliate academic at King′s College London, Lincoln, London Southbank and Birmingham Universities, leading and advising on health services research and evaluation. Her interests lie in understanding healthcare organisations, predominantly utilising qualitative ethnographic methods.  She sits on a number of research and evaluation boards nationally and internationally, most recently looking at the impact of AI on the healthcare workforce. Maria co-develops the mental health outcome measure PSYCHLOPS, which has been used by the World Health Organisation and Médecins Sans Frontières. Maria’s PhD from King’s College London, explored quality improvement in primary care ethnographically. A. Niroshan Siriwardena is an academic general practitioner and director of the Community and Health Research Unit at University of Lincoln, United Kingdom. Since embarking on an academic career he has continued providing clinical and academic leadership in primary and prehospital care.
