Description

Bad Decisions Waste 40 Percent of Our Day. Here's What to Do about It. In developing nations, 40 percent of drinkable water is lost. Infrastructure breaks. Pipes leak. People cut into water lines to bypass their meters. In our daily lives, we waste 40 percent of our time undoing bad decisions, whether ours or someone else's. Can water conservation best practices teach us how to save time, make better decisions, and live richer lives? In Purify: What Clean Water Teaches Us about Making Smarter Decisions in Business and in Life, Richard E. Allred taps into a career's worth of adventures, experiences, and lessons, revealing new ways to protect our decision making at work and at home from negative emotions, compromising situations, and unproductive traits. This book will help you: Become a better leader that people respect. Spend life doing what you love. Advance in your career or industry faster. Work smarter, not harder, and live better. Stress less over tough situations. Go invest wisely and get out (or stay out) of debt. Leave work earlier and get home sooner. Get better customers, employees, and friends. Make peace with anyone even when you don't see eye to eye. Set a better routine you can stick with. Build trust in a team, a company, and a marriage. Earn forgiveness when you do make a bad decision. Purify is decision making made smarter for everyone. Whether you're a student or a seasoned professional, a new parent or a chief executive, you'll be amazed how your attitude, relationships, and finances improve when you purify your decision making with sound judgment, time-tested principles, and proven methods.

Author Biography:

Richard E. Allred is President, CEO, and Managing Partner of ATS. Since 1979, ATS has provided innovative solutions to protect and treat the world's water, from developing countries to businesses like Barrick Gold, Chevron, Denver Water, Phillipps 66, and Toyota. In 2010, Richard's company made headlines worldwide when ATS technology helped rescue thirty-three trapped miners in Chile. Richard also serves on the board of Empower Mali, a nonprofit that builds infrastructure to further education. Richard was inspired to take over ATS from his father after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Brazil. He realized the best way he could help people in Brazil was by providing them with clean water. Richard then expanded his charitable operations to West Africa and the Philippines. An eternal optimist, Richard believes in continual improvement both personally and professionally. Richard enjoys finding solutions to complex problems and inspiring confidence, optimism, and creativity in his employees and partners. Richard and his wife Cara live in Utah with their six children.
