I feel this book is likely to disappoint people on both sides of the political spectrum. Judith’s career in politics has been noteworthy largely from the scandals which have erupted around her, this book, which dives into some of those issues, will instead pin the blame on someone else for her own actions. Whether it be blaming former Prime Minister John Key, another National MP, or someone from another political party, Judith takes no responsibility for her own actions. The moment the book gets to something murky due to her own behaviour, she avoids all responsibility by talking about how someone made her emotional/upset from a snide comment – The irony of this being, if Judith is a victim because of snarky political comments, just how many victims has she created in her own career- The whole “woe is me” mantra gets tiring halfway through, the moment you remember nobody is forcing her to stay in politics, you start to wonder why she’s complaining. 2/5 stars.
