Author Biography:

Gregory Cox has over ten years of professional managerial experience. He is a certified parent instructor and a seasoned public speaker who promotes positive behavior. He has co-authored two books, "The Parents' Get Real Guide to Getting Your Kids Back," and "The Parents' Get Real Guide to Keeping Your Kids at Home." In addition, Gregory has published several articles regarding fathers' rights and responsibilities. He previously served as chairman of the Cook County Birth Parent Council (BPC). In the spirit of teamwork, he joined other BPC members to present birth parent issues to approximately 150 juvenile court personnel, including state attorneys, bar attorneys, public defenders, and child defense attorneys. Currently, Gregory Cox is the program coordinator for services involving family and children with a focus on birth parents. He attends DCFS focus groups with DCFS staff and juvenile court officials, and has provided presentations at DCFS Foundations Trainings for newly hired child welfare workers. He is also responsible for developing the concept of an Annual Institute Day. This empowers birth parents with information on navigating the child welfare system. This event has been instituted into the activities of DCFS's Partnering with Parents Initiative. Gregory Cox is a loving and devoted husband, father, and a faithful servant at one of the largest non-denominational churches in Chicago.
