The book considers the benefits of introducing private sponsorships in Europe in order to provide more refugees with a safe and legal pathway to resettlement. It assesses whether recurring to private sponsorships could enhance refugee resettlement opportunities in Europe. The book gives an account of the private sponsorship arrangements currently adopted in Europe. It outlines which aspects of private sponsorships work, which do not work, and which could work with some improvements. Building upon this background the book makes suggestions on how to move forward.
