Description

It was a special time in the history of our nation. It was a special place in the living quarters of our armed forces. It was a family living its life with usual family needs in unusual circumstances...blessed with a very special dog...PRINIE! In the early 1950's, Captain Edward Bierman, his wife, Shirley, and their young family were adapting to life at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, when an extraordinary dog entered their lives. Loyal companion, protector and teacher, Prinie changed the lives and perceptions of her human family and enchantingly affected the lives and actions of all who experienced her. This TRUE STORY is for people who love and are loved by animals. A timeless tale of life's lessons, mutual love, appreciation and respect, it will open hearts to the insight and enhanced life Nature's beautiful creatures gift us. PRINIE: A LOVE STORY is a beautiful, "feel-good" family story for adults and children of all ages - a must-read for all animal lovers!

Author Biography:

AT A VIBRANT 92 YEARS YOUNG, Army and Navy Vet, retired Ophthalmologist, Elder, Great Grandfather, Friend, Philosopher, Nature lover with a holistic approach to all creatures and now an organic farmer (for fun!) - EDWARD O. BIERMAN, M.D., known to most as "Eddie" and known "in the day" as "Captain Bierman" - shares his story of a part of Army life seldom seen. Unlike his scientific literature in Ophthalmology, the written results of his cancer research with Lysozyme delivered by invitation to an International Symposium in Milan, Italy (1964), or his contributions as a member of a medical team and one of the first groups of Americans invited into China (1978) - this story is a personal one... a timeless tale told with his beloved, well-known and well-received humanity and generosity which will endear and endure.
