Author Biography:

ABOUT THE ARTIST Drawing inspiration from nature's ubiquitous beauty, Karina Sladovic is highly-applauded for her detailed, surreal watercolors. A Croatian native, Karina is one of Europe's most respected up-and-coming artists. Her work invites viewers' full range of fantasy, even as they navigate its intricate execution. As with all great art, grasping its many different layers is possible only after close and patient observation, most often over days and months. Karina's work uses a wide range of media and is typically grouped around specific themes. It's inspiration is almost always from nature and the world around us. Her work is truly her life, a near-constant gesture of drawing, painting, and etching, a pursuit of perfecting the byways of inner expression. ABOUT THE WRITER Marina de Moses is a mother, friend, woman, social entrepreneur, pianist, journalist, philanthropist, researcher - though not always in that order. By nature she is a nomad who thrives on "open" spaces - whether in visible reality or the intangible world. By occupation and calling, she is a "bridge," one connecting geography to lore, story (and her-story) to history. Marina is fascinated with the power of music and the beauty of nature. Marina has been called a "polymath" and "knowmad" (a 21st Century new worker). She is often described as "creative," "imaginative" and "innovative," and is recognized for her ability to work with almost anyone, anywhere, anytime. Marina believes that new ideas and discoveries are often inspired when different kinds of people and different kinds of thinking "talk" with one another. She believes that doing this is part of what makes us human.
