Celebrating his 90th birthday in 2019, Popeye, the beloved sailor man cartoon, started off a minor character and quickly (with a little help from spinach) became one of the most iconic character of all time. As the star of his own comic strips, animated series, on the big screen and small, and of course the hit 1980s musical starring Robin Williams, Popeye is deeply ingrained in American culture.
