Bruno guides the reader through these modern strands of interpretation, examines their historical, theological, and socio-political context, and discusses the hermeneutical underpinnings of the modern discussion of Augustine's social and political thought.

Author Biography:

Michael J. S. Bruno earned a doctorate in sacred theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. He is Parochial Vicar of St. Luke Catholic Church and adjunct professor of theology at St. Joseph's Seminary in Dunwoodie, NY.
