Author Biography:

Vanessa Williams was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. She is an only child of both her parents. When Vanessa was a child she spent a lot of time playing with toys as any little girl would. In addition to toys she had crayons, paper, and books galore. She loved to paint, color, trace pictures, write and read books. Vanessa was a good student in elementary school and made great grades. When Vanessa was in middle and high school she became a class clown. That was the unofficial start of her comedy career. Everyone was drawn to Vanessa because of her ability to make them laugh. When it came to writing in school Vanessa was the biggest procrastinator. She would wait until the night before to do a writing assignment. The teacher was impressed with the writing ability that Vanessa possessed. Sometimes the projects would be late, and her grades would suffer. She would have achieved an "A''; if she would have been on time according to her teacher. As an adult Vanessa developed a love for words and the ability to express them. Poetry became her best friend. It allowed her to get through hard and tough times. Poetry also allowed Vanessa's mind to take a fantastic journey into the land of fantasy. At times of feeling low or high, poetry was the mechanism that got her by. Vanessa desires to touch others through her poetry. To articulate the feelings of the heart, mind and soul. Div-ing into the corridors of deep and meaningful thoughts, embracing the workmanship of freedom of expressions, hoping to leave a lasting poetic impression on you the reader.
