Nitin Sawhney is regarded as one of the most influential and versatile creative talents alive today. Firmly established as a world-class producer, songwriter, DJ and cultural pioneer, Sawhney is a latter-day Renaissance man who has recently been awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music from the University of Kent.
His breakthough gold-selling album ‘Beyond Skin’ was released in 1999 and won several awards. On the back of that, Richard Branson’s V2 Records signed Sawhney to a six-album deal.
Sawhney has worked with a host of artists including Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Sinead O’Connor, Jeff Beck, Brian Eno and Imogen Heap. In 2000 he produced the ‘Varekai’ album for Cirque du Soleil.
