Author Biography:

Sara Coleridge (1802–1852) was a British writer, editor and translator born in Keswick, Cumberland, England. She was the only daughter of English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his wife, Sara Fricker. As a child, she was greatly influenced by her uncle whose vast library exposed her to the Greek and Latin classics. As an adult, she embarked on a literary career starting with translations such as Account of the Abipones in 1822. This was followed by lighter fare inspired by her growing family. Coleridge notably wrote Pretty Lessons in Verse for Good Children and Phantasmion: A Fairy Tale.
