Pearlie was having a busy day looking after the park when a ladybird appeared with a message in its little bag. The message scroll, decorated with scarlet tassels and written on silvery paper, said: "Her Majesty Queen Emerald - most magical monarch of Fairyland - will visit Jubilee Park today at dusk for a very important announcement." How exciting! And the ladybird said that Queen Emerald wanted to have supper with Pearlie in her famous pink shell. Even more magical!

Author Biography

WENDY HARMER began her career as a journalist and has had a hugely successful career in comedy - on stage, television and radio. She has written many scripts for television and theatre, and six books for adults. Her PEARLIE IN THE PARK books - a series for young readers - are bestsellers in Australia and have been published in ten countries around the world. The animated PEARLIE is now screening on Australian TV. Wendy lives in Sydney with her husband, Brendan, and their two children, Marley and Maeve. GYPSY TAYLOR is a production designer and illustrator whose career spans film, advertising and animation. Since graduating from NIDA with a design degree, she has worked as a costumer illustrator on a number of feature films including THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA - THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE and Baz Luhrmann's AUSTRALIA. Gypsy is currently illustrating more Pearlie books for Random House. MIKE ZARB has been a storyboard artist and illustrator for over fifteen years, and has worked for various animation studios around the world. His animation design background influenced the creation of his vibrant illustrations of Pearlie and her friends.
