A Special Education miscellany of teaching ideas and experiences.

Author Biography:

The author lives on a farm in north central Ohio. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, Ohio). She took graduate courses at Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio), Ashland College (Ashland, Ohio), and Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio). She was a school teacher for thirty-three years. Five of these years were spent teaching Home Economics and Physical Education to junior and senior high school girls. Twenty-eight years were spent teaching Special Education students in elementary schools. While teaching, she helped to write and critique practical teaching activities to develop employability skills in handicapped children for the Montgomery County Board of Education. She also helped to write Crawford County's Developmentally Handicapped Course of Study. She received the Teacher of the Year award from the Colonel Crawford School District (North Robinson, Ohio), the Jennings Scholar award from Bowling Green State University, and two separate awards from Instructional Technology Services for her use of computer technology in her classroom. Since retiring from teaching, she has been a volunteer schoolmarm in the Morton One-Room School in Shelby, Ohio. Boys and girls come from area schools to spend the day. They experience McGuffey Readers, slates, copy books, quill pens, and out houses. She is the author of Summer of Suspense (Davenport Publishing, 2008), and Humpi, the Orphan Camel (Publish America, 2010).
