Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna von Habsburg-Lothringen (1755–1793), better known as Marie Antoinette the wife of Louis XVI, was the last Queen of France and Navarre, from1774 to 1792. She appeared before the Revolutionary Court and was sentenced to death for treason. She was executed in what is today the Place de la Concorde on October 16, 1793.
