JEFFREY HAYNES is Professor of Politics at London Metropolitan University, UK, where he teaches courses on Development and International Politics. His publications include Religion in Third World Politics (1993); Religion and Politics in Africa (1996); Third World Politics (1996); Democracy and Civil Society in the Third World (1997); Religion in Global Politics (1998); Democracy in the Developing World (2001); and Politics in the Developing World (2002). He has also edited Religion, Globalisation and Political Culture in the Third World
