Author Biography:

Dylan Thomas was born in Swansea in 1914. He began writing poetry as a child and left school at 16 to be a reporter for the South Wales Daily Post; several of his most famous poems were published while he was still a teenager. Thomas went on to become one of the major poets of the 20th century, while also writing short stories and scripts for film and radio, the most famous of which being Under Milk Wood. He died in New York shortly after his 39th birthday.Cerys Matthews is a musician, author and broadcaster. She was a founding member of the multi-million-selling band Catatonia and currently hosts and programmes an award-winning radio show on BBC 6 Music every Sunday. In 2022, she adapted Thomas's Under Milk Wood into a new edition for children. She has received a St David Award and an MBE for her services to culture.
