The book provides a basic introduction to U.S. health care delivery arrangements. It identifies the organizations involved, outlines policies and procedures that govern how people get access to care, discusses how we pay for health care services, and compares our arrangements to those in other countries.
Author Biography
Grace Budrys is professor of Sociology and Director of the School of Health and Public Service at DePaul University. She has written numerous books on the disparities in U.S. health care, including When Doctors Join Unions, and Unequal Health.
