Description

Operation Alpine Fortress - Part Two is a continuation of Team Abigail's gripping adventure in the book, Operation Alpine Fortress - Part One, to determine if the German rumors are true that Hitler intends to retreat from Berlin to Southern Bavaria and to fight a final Gotterdammerung in the Alpine Mountains. Morgan and Wellesley, along with Feldwebel Felix Weber of the Austrian resistance, parachute successfully onto the Salztaler Glacier, contact the Austrian Resistance, and begin to gather intelligence to determine if the existence of the Nazi Alpine Fortress is true or merely a German propaganda rumor. Things become complicated, however, when Morgan is captured and tortured by the Gestapo. After Morgan is successfully rescued by Major Wellesley in a daring deception, their mission becomes even more complicated as they attempt to find and recruit a high ranking German Intelligence General Officer, commander of the Fremde Heer Ost, now in hiding in Southern Bavaria. To complicate things further they have also been tasked to find and interview a mysterious woman now staying in Berchtesgaden, the location of the Berghof, Hitler's Bavarian residence.
