For 16 years, the Promising Generation has been training the children of the CIA's best agents to prepare them to be the next generation of highly qualified agents. Over the years, they have accepted any mission the CIA assigned them, but when the CIA asks for their help, and issues a BOLO (Be on the Look-out) for a teenage girl Peter Carlyle recognizes, he opts to start his own investigation instead. If he gets caught, he could be jeopardizing his position in the Generation, and his future in espionage, but he doesn't believe she did what the CIA is claiming. When Alyx McLean returns to John C Kimball High School in Tracy California, she is eager to separate herself from her persona Alex Feilds, who has found herself a subject of interest in the British tabloids. She is more than happy to return to her life of anonymity in California, where no one knows what she did over the summer. But when one of her classmates is kidnapped, and her dad doesn't tell her he is the FBI agent assigned to the case, she will do just about anything to find the freshmen before her dad.
