I was concerned before purchasing this that it would be another one sided rant that verged on conspiracy. How wrong I was! Seeing former Springbok tour ‘red squad’ leader Ross Meurant criticise police culture makes for fascinating viewing, but that's only after a series of reflections made by those directly affected by the raids. Whilst the filmmakers make no apologies for the perspectives offered, this film provides both a cogent critique of broadcast news and questions how the politics of ‘terror’ are played out in New Zealand.
Clever stuff and immensely watchable. It's left me thinking about what's going on in this country and who's really pulling the strings. And that's me who doesn't believe in conspiracies too…
