Description

WINNER OF THE IBEROAMERICAN PHOTOLIBRO CONTEST 2013 This book invites us to enter a world that is apparently familiar but at the same time strangely different. Through his images, taken by Mark Powell in Latin America, he shows us a narrative on different levels, ranging from the known to the tortuous, from composition to imbalance, from humour to disquieting. It is unclear whether Powell's photograph is the result of objective possibilities, documented street photography, provocative collaboration or a combination of the latter two. However, it is clear that it offers an answer to the question that artists have always raised: does the act of observing change the origin and meaning of what we observe? The answer is a question: would the scenes have happened this way, if Powell had not been there? 35 photographs
