Author Biography:

Dr. Azar graduated in medicine from Raji Gandhi University of Health Science (Al-Ameen Medical College) in India. In 2013, he joined Hamad Medical Corporation as a resident in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He made significant contributions in his short time in the department, being one of the core participants in drafting the first Rehabilitation Strategy in Qatar. He also co-authored Qatar's first proposal for the establishment of Traffic Medicine, which was presented in International Traffic Medicine Association conference (Berlin,2013). He took up a fellowship program in Palliative Medicine from National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), HMC, Qatar. After completing the fellowship in Palliative Medicine, he joined as the Associate Consultant in NCCCR. He also underwent Hospice training in St. Richards Hospice, Worcestershire, UK during the year 2018. Dr. Azza Adel Hassan completed her medical education in 1986 at Alexandria University, Egypt. She obtained her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Oncology. She received certification from the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM) in 2003. Currently, she is Program Director of Supportive and Palliative Care Unit at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar.? Before joining NCCCR, she worked as an Assistant Consultant for Palliative Care Medicine at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Reseach Center (KFSHRC) for six years. Dr. Azza has several publications in the field of Clinical Oncology and Palliative Medicine in peer-reviewed Journals. She is an active member of the Supportive And Palliative Care Working Group of European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), ESMO Palliative Care Working Group, Middle East Cancer Consortium (MECC) and MASCC (Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer). Dr. Allam is Senior Consultant, Palliative Care at Medical Oncology Department, National Center for Cancer Care and Research, MC, Qatar and Professor Of Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer institue of Cairo, Egypt. He got his PhD in Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA
