Author Biography:

Kim Sherman, JD, PhD, has had a 30 year career in special education, including teaching Pre-K through grade 8, university teacher preparation programs, university administrator preparation programs, Oregon Department of Education, and as project manager of Alaska's state-wide assessment of students with significant cognitive delays. Sidney Ganzler, PhD, has had a 40+ year career in clinical psychology, with a focus on psychological evaluations of students and adults as a member of a multi-disciplinary team related to potential identifications of disabilities. The two main conditions that were considered were 1) developmental intellectual disorder, and 2) autism spectrum disorder.
