Description

Greetings, I'm Michael Welch, drummer/musician/educator and author. I officially published this book "Notes of a Young Drummer 1966-1969" in 2013 after years, actually decades of writing and editing. I'm very proud of the technical final proof of this effort. I'm updating this in February 2022. This book continues to be my favorite effort. As a musician, I've experienced many memorable performances and collaborations with other musicians. This book, though it's my photo from 1967 and my name on the cover, is a tribute to the thousands of musicians that experienced life in the 60s as professional musicians. My stories are typical of those like me in the 60s, playing music in night clubs, traveling around the US, from gig to gig. I never became a "Rock Star" my book is a "blue collar" collection of stories based on my experiences as a musician. I picked the time period 1966 to 1969 because it was a special period in music and life. Since I published this book, many musicians have told me their stories, much like mine, but different. Since 2013, I'm still playing the drums and authoring books and producing projects. Please visit my author site here on Amazon. Since 2013 I've authored and published over 30 books, including my very special Boom Boom the Bass Drum series. I've also authored the MrMikesMusicMats, Floridian In Paris, Tommy Thomas Percussion Library, The Road Is, Audience Of One and more. These books are available on Amazon as paperback editions and the new Educator Site Amazon Ignite. These are avaiable as digital downloads. My special friend Boom Boom the Bass Drum has a podcast, also available on Amazon. So, thanks for looking. Michael Welch
